Aerit, a sustainable drone delivery service based in Stockholm, has announced the start of its drone delivery services in select households within Värmdö Kommun. This marks a significant milestone for Aerit and the advancement of drone services in Sweden, offering on-demand access to a wide range of products, including pharmacy goods, groceries, meals, and retail items. The deliveries, conducted beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), are set to transform the traditional 30-minute car trips into efficient 7-minute battery-powered flights.

Initially, the services will be available on weekends, catering to households registered with Aerit. Aerit's autonomous Nimbi delivery drones, which are designed and built in-house, serve as the backbone of the delivery platform. These battery-powered drones have a maximum payload capacity of 4kg (10lbs) and are equipped with a proprietary winching system. This innovative feature enables the drones to pick up and drop off packages without relying on supporting infrastructure. By leveraging this cutting-edge technology, Aerit aims to provide efficient and reliable delivery services while minimizing the environmental impact.
The company received regulatory approval for operations under the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) framework. This achievement showcases Aerit's dedication to safety and compliance, ensuring secure and responsible drone operations.
