The Iron Drone Raider, a counter-unmanned aerial system (UAS), is undergoing rapid upgrades to better serve the unique needs of the Israeli Defense forces. Collaborating with major Israeli defense contractors, Airobotics is focusing on refining the system's AI-based interception capabilities to effectively neutralize small hostile drones, which pose a significant threat in modern warfare.
Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas, emphasized the urgency and importance of the Iron Drone Raider's development, noting its pivotal role in addressing current operational challenges and saving lives. The system's unique approach involves an autonomously launched interceptor drone, equipped with advanced AI vision, that detects, tracks, and incapacitates hostile drones using a net and parachute, safely neutralizing the threat.
The versatility of the Iron Drone Raider system lies in its ability to engage drones operating under various control methods, including those flying autonomously without a pilot's command. The system's interceptor drone can effectively lock onto these targets, following and capturing them without the need for human intervention.
