In a significant development for German defense technology, ARX Robotics (formerly ARX Landsysteme GmbH) and Quantum Systems have entered into a strategic partnership, announced at a meeting in Gilching, near Munich. This collaboration unites two of Germany's leading companies in unmanned systems, both recognized for their support to Ukraine and their commitment to driving technological advancements in defense.
Quantum Systems, known for its autonomous reconnaissance drones, and ARX Robotics, a leader in unmanned ground vehicles, are combining their expertise to enhance their offerings to the German Bundeswehr and allied armed forces. The partnership aims to address the evolving requirements of modern battlefields through improved unmanned solutions.
A key component of this partnership is the deployment of Quantum Systems' Vector drone, a reconnaissance system that has been supporting Ukrainian forces since early 2022. Currently, over 200 Vector drones are operational in Ukraine, with plans to deliver around 500 systems by the end of the year. The Ukrainian General Staff has also requested an additional 800 Vector systems. Similarly, ARX Robotics is making significant contributions by supplying unmanned ground vehicles for testing and deployment in specialized units of the Ukrainian Army.
"We are partners who complement each other. One with its experience in the air and ARX with our modular systems on the ground. We are united by our belief in the need for unmanned systems in the armed forces, also as a sign of a real turning point," remarked Marc Wietfeld, CEO of ARX Robotics.
The collaboration also involves joint public relations campaigns and demonstrations to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and showcase the benefits of unmanned systems to the German Federal Armed Forces. This initiative reflects a broader mission to support and drive technological advancements within the German defense infrastructure.
Florian Seibel, CEO of Quantum Systems, expressed enthusiasm about the potential impact of this partnership: "The fact that two young dual-use companies with state-of-the-art technology are in the process of repositioning the European defense market and bringing a new era to life makes us proud, as well as humbled by the task ahead of us.
