DroneShield has announced the release of SensorFusionAI (SFAI), a 3D data fusion engine designed for intricate environments. The engine is sensor-agnostic, implying its ability to function with a variety of sensor types.
Previously incorporated into DroneSentry-C2, DroneShield's primary command-and-control (C2) system, this launch marks the availability of SFAI as a separate module. This modular design will permit its integration with third-party C2 systems, offering sophisticated fusion capabilities from diverse sensor arrays on a Software as a Service (SaaS) basis.
Angus Bean, DroneShield’s CTO, shed light on the shift towards a multi-sensor approach in drone or Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) detection. He emphasized that while adding more sensors can provide better results, they need an efficient software engine to coalesce these results. Without such software, merely adding sensors can lead to an overflow of data without a mechanism to process it meaningfully.
DroneShield's new offering, SFAI, was originally crafted for their DroneSentry-C2 system and encompasses the common drone detection modes, such as radiofrequency, radar, acoustic, and camera systems.
Oleg Vornik, CEO of DroneShield, noted the company's flexible approach, aiming to be either a complete C-UAS solution provider or a subcontractor, depending on the context. With SFAI, the company can now cater to third-party suppliers, leveraging existing relationships and requirements, thereby expanding their market reach.
SFAI boasts a series of advanced features:
- Behaviour Analysis: It can track an object to classify and forecast its trajectory.
- Threat Assessment: The engine smartly determines threat levels using various data types.
- Confidence Levels: It operates effectively in noisy environments with erratic data inputs.
- After-Action Reporting: The system offers comprehensive analytics through easily understandable graphical displays.
- Edge Processing: Incorporates SmartHub for minimizing network load and ensuring scalability.
- Versatile Adaptable Inputs: It enables swift integration time by allowing new sensors to utilize existing software adaptors.
- Output Capabilities: SFAI can output to the DroneSentry-C2, other third-party C2 platforms, data analysis tools, alert systems, or security management software.
In comparison to traditional multi-sensor C2 engines, SFAI stands out. It intelligently consolidates data from all sensors over time, allowing for consistent tracking and reduced inaccuracies.
