Elistair has unveiled the latest iteration of its Orion tethered Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) lineup, dubbed the Orion 2.2 TE. This new model takes cues from its predecessor while integrating advanced tactical functions, a broader payload spectrum, and a versatile modular design.
The Orion 2.2 TE now incorporates cutting-edge technology such as Nextvision Raptor, XQT AI, and XQT LRF. This suite of tools, inclusive of a 3km laser rangefinder, making the system particularly suited for the needs of military divisions, border patrols, and national security entities.
Furthermore, the UAS's imaging capabilities have been significantly elevated courtesy of Elistair's latest mission software, T-Planner V1.2. This enhancement brings to the table a slew of tactical functions including target tracking, automated object categorization, systematic scanning routines, and Points of Interest (POIs), all of which collectively streamline surveillance missions.
A standout feature of the Orion 2.2 TE is its adaptability for various mission profiles, thanks to its innovative 2-in-1 structure. Operators in the field can easily tweak the UAS's rotor setup, transitioning from a 'standard' mode to a 'heavy lift' configuration, thus allowing for an impressive payload capacity of up to 5kgs. Moreover, the inclusion of a Payload Development Kit, equipped with uninterrupted power and a secure Ethernet port for wired data transmissions, grants operators the flexibility to incorporate third-party payloads.
Designed for efficiency, the Orion 2.2 TE boasts a compact logistical footprint. Contained within a dual-case pack out, deployment is swift and can be effectively managed by an individual operator.
Elistair has indicated that the initial batch of the Orion 2.2 TE units will be ready for dispatch by the conclusion of September 2023.
