Eve Air Mobility and Embraer have revealed plans to establish an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) production facility in Taubaté, São Paulo, Brazil. The location, subject to final authorities' approval, will be a designated area within Embraer's existing unit in the city, which will be expanded for the purpose.
The strategic logistical advantages of the site, with easy access via highways and proximity to a railroad, make it an ideal location for the manufacturing plant. Its proximity to Embraer's headquarters in São José dos Campos and Eve's engineering and human resources team will also facilitate the development of new production processes, enhancing agility and competitiveness.
Andre Stein, co-CEO of Eve, stated, "Our objective is to offer safe and reliable products and services to the market and be highly competitive in manufacturing efficiency. The team was tasked with the opportunity to design an optimized assembly line that prioritizes safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and sustainability."
Embraer's President & CEO, Francisco Gomes Neto, added,
"This decision is aligned with our growth strategy plan, which is driven by innovation and sustainability. We believe in the enormous potential of the global Urban Air Mobility market, and we reinforce our commitment to Eve as one of the major players in this industry."
Eve's partnership with Porsche Consulting, announced in May 2022, played a significant role in defining the eVTOL global manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics strategy. Together, they researched advanced manufacturing and innovation concepts to design an industrialization concept for eVTOL aircraft focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer focus.
Alice Altissimo, Vice President of Program Management and Operation at Eve, highlighted the company's dedication to achieving high-quality standards in eVTOL manufacturing, enabling efficient scalability to meet the demands of the growing market.
Eve remains focused on the development of its eVTOL while also creating a comprehensive portfolio of agnostic solutions, including a unique Urban Air Traffic Management (Urban ATM) software for optimizing and scaling Urban Air Mobility operations worldwide.
