Global warehouse mobile robotics company, Exotec, today reported its significant business growth, marking its presence in over 100 customer locations worldwide. The firm also revealed plans to bolster its global workforce by 80% YoY by 2024, in response to booming business across APAC, Europe, and North America.
Exotec CEO and Co-founder, Romain Moulin, noted the surpassing of 100 customer sites as a crucial achievement, indicative of the mounting interest in the warehouse automation sector. Moulin highlighted that many top brands rely on Exotec to streamline operations and restructure their supply chains.
Christian Resch, a partner at the Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, pointed to Exotec's potential, particularly in light of the current economic volatility, workforce shortages, and increasing consumer expectations. He credited Exotec's engineering prowess, innovative strategies, and successful collaboration with global brands for positioning them favorably in the warehouse automation sector.
Exotec, initially established in France, ventured into the North American market in 2020. Within three years, the company set up its North American headquarters in Atlanta, now comprising a team of over 70. Plans are in place to further expand the team to cater to the region's growing demand. Brands such as Gap, Ariat, and Decathlon have already collaborated with Exotec across 20+ sites in the U.S. and Canada. By 2025, Exotec anticipates that the North American sector will account for one-third of its global business.
In Western Europe, Exotec has observed considerable growth, securing new clients and expanding into additional countries. Notably, partnerships were formed with CEVA Logistics in the Netherlands and Lyreco in France. Moreover, in April 2023, a significant alliance was established with the UK's Alliance Automotive Group (AAG).
In Central Europe, Exotec continues its upward trajectory. A recent collaboration with Polish Integrator A1 Sorter led to a project with ILS, a Polish logistics service provider specializing in automotive logistics. The partnership entails equipping an ILS fulfillment center in Zakroczym, Poland, with Exotec's Skypod® system.
The APAC region, being among the fastest-growing global markets, has seen focused efforts from Exotec. In August 2023, a partnership was announced with South Korea's POSCO DX, marking South Korea as the second Asian country after Japan to integrate Exotec solutions. In Japan, Exotec's growth was marked by collaborations with Alps Logistics and acca international, both set to employ the Skypod robotics systems.
