Flytrex, a leader in the drone-based food delivery industry, has announced the successful completion of its 100,000th delivery via drone across its operational areas in North Carolina and Texas. This milestone solidifies Flytrex’s position as the largest drone delivery service of its kind in the United States.
Operating in suburban areas, where the majority of Americans reside, Flytrex has established itself as a preferred choice for food delivery by offering a fast, cost-effective, and contactless alternative to traditional methods. The company reports that 70% of households within its delivery zones have utilized its services, drawn by the convenience and speed that drones offer.
“At Jersey Mike’s Subs, we are focused on bringing our customers the best experience – and that includes delivery that is convenient for their schedules and preferences,” said Scott Scherer, Chief Information Officer at Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc. “Partnering with Flytrex, our fans can enjoy our authentic, fresh sliced/fresh grilled sub sandwiches how and when they want them.”
Flytrex’s drone deliveries are not only quick but also eco-friendly, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and minimizing road traffic accidents. The company boasts that its drones can deliver orders in under two minutes for distances up to two miles, with an average delivery time of four minutes and 30 seconds. This performance outpaces traditional car deliveries, which can take 8-12 minutes under normal conditions and 15-20 minutes during heavy traffic.
The company’s data also reveals interesting trends in consumer preferences. From grocery stores, the most frequently delivered items include bananas, limes, and pints of ice cream. Meanwhile, french fries, chicken nuggets, turkey sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and burrito bowls are among the top items ordered from restaurants. Flytrex reports that 36% of grocery orders include fresh produce, while 10% feature sweets and snacks. For restaurant deliveries, 22% of orders are for sandwiches or salads, and 19% for chicken or wings.
“Drone delivery is rapidly becoming a staple in the U.S., as it satisfies Americans’ hunger for instant gratification while benefiting the community and the planet with less road congestion and pollution,” said Yariv Bash, CEO and co-founder of Flytrex. “Flytrex continuously innovates to overcome delivery challenges, ensuring our drones can handle anything from large and heavy family meals to bad weather and oddly shaped packages, making us pioneers in the practical implementation of drone technology in daily life."
