Gremsy has launched the Pixy LR, a state-of-the-art gimbal crafted for the Sony ILX-LR1 61 MP full-frame mirrorless camera. This latest solution aims to cater to industrial and professional drone applications that prioritize high-quality imaging. The Pixy LR boasts attributes of convenience, user-friendliness, and efficient functionality.
Maintaining the compact design synonymous with the Pixy line, the Pixy LR not only accentuates the capabilities of the camera but also promotes longer flight times in industrial operations. The gimbal's specifications reveal a length of 140 mm, height of 200 mm, and a width of 115 mm. At a standard weight of 495g, which includes the quick release, the Pixy LR remains lightweight while offering robust stabilization technology, ensuring sharp photographs and fluid video capture.
This gimbal supports optimal image stabilization with seven distinct lens options. This compatibility empowers users with varied combinations for the ILX-LR1 camera, facilitating diverse shooting angles and easy adaptability across multiple situations without necessitating a camera swap. A standout feature is the ability to alternate between lenses with the gimbal still in place, further amplifying user convenience and operational efficiency.
A first for Gremsy's gimbal line, the Pixy LR comes with USB 3.0 (5Gb/s) compatibility. This enhancement facilitates quicker and more accessible transfer, storage, and editing of images or videos. Consequently, the pairing of Pixy LR with Sony's camera promises remarkable image quality, with the assurance of capturing detailed photos via rapid transmission.
The Pixy LR's design includes a straightforward hardware interface comprising multiple ports: power, CAN, COM, SBUS, USB 3.0, AUX, and HDMI. Such connectivity options simplify the integration of devices like remote controls, additional flight controllers, and auxiliary accessories to augment the camera system. Moreover, the gimbal's support for GSDK (Gremsy SDK) and MAVSDK (MAVLink SDK) through UART interfaces provides developers the latitude to create bespoke applications aligning with distinct needs.
Lastly, the Pixy LR retains its multi-platform compatibility. With adaptability to premier drone autopilots and systems like Pixhawk, CubePilot, Skynode, Airpeak, and DJI M600, users benefit from effortless integration and a broader selection of drone platforms.
