LG has launched the latest iteration of its LG CLOi ServeBot, an advanced autonomous service robot designed to streamline delivery tasks in hospitality and healthcare settings. The new model, LDLIM31, features a four-door design with ample storage space, reducing the workload for busy staff by handling repetitive delivery tasks.
"Our newest service robot brings a new level of functionality and flexibility to the hospitality and healthcare channels," said Mike Kosla, senior vice president, LG Business Solutions USA. "Featuring advanced platform technologies that include AI, communications, and control, the new CLOi ServeBot is going to help our hospitality and healthcare customers streamline their operations. The introduction of a door-type service robot reinforces our commitment to constantly innovate in ways that bring meaningful new benefits to our customers."
Debuted at the HITEC 2024 hospitality technology trade show, the LG CLOi ServeBot enhances LG's AI robot portfolio and aligns with the company's strategy to expand its B2B operations in delivery and logistics services. The delivery robot's design has earned prestigious awards, including the 2024 Red Dot Design Award and the 2024 iF Design Award.
The CLOi ServeBot's four internal compartments, each capable of carrying up to 30kg, allow for multiple deliveries or collections. It can hold up to 32 standard-sized 12-ounce coffee cups and features adjustable shelving to accommodate different item sizes. Designed for indoor use, the robot can navigate elevators and move between floors, providing broad operational coverage.
Equipped with six wheels and independent suspension, the CLOi ServeBot ensures stability, even on uneven surfaces, preventing spillage during transport. Its doors can automatically open or close, and built-in camera sensors detect when deliveries are completed. An AI algorithm enables the robot to navigate around obstacles, determine optimal routes, and communicate with up to 20 other CLOi ServeBots to enhance task efficiency and prevent collisions.
The front-facing 10.1-inch display serves as a mobile advertising platform, with content uploadable via the LG CLOi Cloud Station or CMS mobile app. The ServeBot can escort customers to destinations and provide voice guidance for sight-impaired users. Real-time monitoring of the robot's status, along with paging and scheduling functions, are available through the LG CLOi Cloud Station.
LG's extensive experience in the robotics industry continues to drive its innovation in versatile robot solutions for various environments, including airports, hotels, hospitals, and warehouses. The company is now focusing on developing a suite of solutions to manage the entire distribution process, from robot supply to last-mile delivery of products.
