Locus Robotics, a global leader in autonomous mobile robot (AMR) technology for warehouse operations, has achieved a new milestone by surpassing 3 billion picks across its customer deployments worldwide. This achievement comes just 33 weeks after the company reached its previous milestone of 2 billion picks, highlighting its swift growth and reinforcing its position as a frontrunner in the warehouse automation sector.
"Reaching 3 billion picks is a significant marker of the trust that our customers have in our innovative robotics solutions," said Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics. "We are committed to continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation to revolutionize the supply chain industry and help our customers achieve substantial operational efficiencies and productivity."
The landmark three billionth pick involved a Carhartt t-shirt at a Carhartt facility in Hanson, KY, narrowly outpacing other items picked at Locus’s over 300 global customer sites. The company's growth trajectory has accelerated remarkably; it took nearly seven years to achieve the first billion picks, 11 months for the second billion, and now just 33 weeks for the third billion.
During the peak season of 2023, Locus picked over 331 million units, marking a 66% increase from the 2022 holiday season and culminating in a total of 1.2 billion units picked throughout the year, an 82% increase over 2022.
Steve Banker, Vice President of Supply Chain Services at ARC Advisory Group, noted, "From the first demo of Locus bots I saw when the company was founded, I recognized their potential. Their impressive growth trajectory clearly demonstrates the substantial value their solutions provide to customers, enabling them to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maintain a competitive edge."
The widespread adoption of Locus Robotics' AMR technology spans various sectors, including retail, third-party logistics (3PL), healthcare, and manufacturing, according to Faulk. Tony Gariety, VP of Distribution Operations at Carhartt, praised the performance and reliability of Locus Robotics, stating, "LocusBots have become crucial to our operations, allowing us to meet the growing demands of our customers with utmost efficiency and accuracy."
As it continues to lead in the evolving industry of warehouse robotics, Locus Robotics remains dedicated to driving innovation and delivering advanced robotic solutions that help its customers scale effectively to meet increasing demand. The company's robust focus on research and development is set to sustain its rapid growth and leadership in the field.
