Matternet, a company known for its urban drone delivery services, has announced a strategic partnership with ANRA Technologies to enhance airspace management for its drone networks. This partnership focuses on enabling safe Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations in increasingly shared airspace environments.
Following the recent launch of Silicon Valley’s first drone delivery service, Matternet is set to expand its operations further by integrating advanced UAS Traffic Management solutions with the help of ANRA. This move aims to support the scale-up of Matternet’s services to offer fast, zero-emission deliveries across urban and suburban areas in the U.S. and internationally.
Matternet's pilot operations are already underway in Mountain View and Sunnyvale, California. Andreas Raptopoulos, Matternet's Founder and CEO, highlighted the importance of this partnership in expanding services while maintaining safety standards for BVLOS operations in shared airspace. With ANRA’s UTM system, Matternet plans to strategically avoid airspace conflicts with other aircraft.
