PLANA, a developer of hybrid advanced air mobility eVTOL aircraft, has signed an agreement with OneSky, a leading provider of uncrewed aircraft systems traffic management solutions. Through this agreement, PLANA is set to become a part of OneSky's Future of Flight program.
OneSky's Future of Flight program is a cooperative ecosystem that brings together industry leaders and innovators to accelerate the path to scalable operations. With over 20 companies participating, including Skyports, Volatus, Echodyne, and Hyundai's UAM US subsidiary, the program fosters collaboration and innovation in the AAM industry.
The collaboration between PLANA and OneSky aims to harness synergies by integrating OneSky's airspace situational awareness, flight planning, simulation, UTM/UATM solutions with PLANA's expertise in developing and manufacturing hybrid-eVTOL aircraft. The partners will also work together to verify the operational concept of PLANA's CP-01 aircraft, refine technical roadmaps, address AAM industry regulations in different countries, and explore new business models.
Robert Hammett, CEO of OneSky, emphasized the importance of this partnership:
"Through this agreement, OneSky has secured an important partner in the operating of AAM aircraft. We will contribute to the evolving AAM industry by implementing safe aircraft operation through sharing know-how and cooperation between the two companies."
Minyoung Ahn, PLANA CSO, and co-founder expressed the benefits of this collaboration: "For safe and efficient aviation of AAM aircraft, it is necessary to utilize UTM functions for automation and long-term processes, including VFR. We expect to be able to acquire various technologies and know-how related to AAM aircraft operation through this cooperation."
The partnership between PLANA and OneSky represents a step forward in advancing safe and efficient AAM aircraft operations.
