Quantum-Systems, a German developer of strategic and military drones, has taken a significant step in bolstering Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression by inaugurating multipurpose centers in the country. This move fulfills Quantum's commitment, made earlier this year, to provide 105 specialized Vector drones to Ukraine, aligning with Germany's official support of Kyiv. The newly established centers will offer comprehensive assistance to maximize the effective deployment of Quantum's defense unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The opening of these centers was first reported by the Ukrainian military site Militarnyi and has been subsequently confirmed by company statements.
Strategically located in key areas across Ukraine, these centers will provide services such as repair, training, support, logistics, and maintenance for Quantum's Vector drones employed in the conflict. The Vector UAVs possess advanced features, including low-noise engines to avoid detection and encrypted IP connections that securely transmit video streams during reconnaissance and intelligence missions.
To date, Quantum has delivered a total of 138 Vector drones to Ukraine, with an additional order of 300 placed by Kyiv in late May. Alongside the Vector drones, Quantum also manufactures Scorpion and Trinity UAVs. The Trinity model, a fixed-wing vertical takeoff craft, is equipped with LiDAR, multispectral, and high-resolution RGB sensors. All Quantum systems utilize artificial intelligence applications to enhance object identification during missions.
Highlighting the operational efficiency of the Vector drones, Quantum emphasizes their rapid readiness, with deployment possible within just two minutes. These drones boast top speeds of 72 km/h and exhibit exceptional maneuverability, ensuring effective sorties even in adverse weather conditions.
In addition to specialized pilot training to optimize drone performance, the centers will play a vital role in maintenance, repair, and spare parts management, extending the lifespan and enhancing the operational capabilities of Vector UAVs in Ukraine's defense efforts. They will also facilitate continuous collaboration between Quantum and Ukrainian units utilizing their aerial technology, enabling the adaptation and refinement of Vector deployment based on direct feedback from operators.
Expressing firm support for Ukraine's democracy, Quantum CEO Florian Seibel stated,
"Quantum Systems stands firmly in support of Ukraine and their democracy, and we are dedicated to assisting them in defending their country, whatever it takes. The trust of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in our systems holds immense significance for us. We consider it a privilege to contribute to Ukraine's defense, and we remain committed to delivering superior systems to their armed forces. Our unwavering belief in democratic values, coupled with the daily challenges faced by Ukrainian soldiers, fuels our motivation and accelerates our development processes."
