Shake Shack is teaming up with Serve Robotics to bring autonomous robot deliveries to its customers in Los Angeles through Uber Eats. The collaboration marks a significant step for Serve Robotics, which is working towards deploying 2,000 AI-powered sidewalk delivery robots across the U.S. by 2025.
Shake Shack fans in select LA locations might soon find their burgers and fries arriving not by a delivery person, but by one of Serve's innovative autonomous robots. This partnership builds on Serve’s ongoing relationship with Uber Eats, which has been using these robots in LA since 2022. The move is expected to pave the way for broader adoption of robot deliveries across the U.S.
“We are excited to add another national merchant like Shake Shack to our platform, a partnership made possible through the relationship we have built with Uber Eats across tens of thousands of successful deliveries,” said Touraj Parang, President and COO of Serve Robotics. “Today's announcement highlights the value of Serve's world-class strategic partnerships as we work to expand our geographic footprint and deploy 2,000 robots across the U.S. in 2025.”
Steph So, Senior Vice President of Digital Experience at Shake Shack, shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We're thrilled about our collaboration with Serve Robotics and Uber Eats,” she said. “In line with our vision of enlightened hospitality, this partnership highlights our commitment to leveraging innovation to enhance guest experiences both in and out of Shack.”
Noah Zych, Global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery at Uber, emphasized the impact of this technology. “Serve has been advancing their technology for years to provide merchants and consumers with not only a futuristic experience but greater affordability, reliability, and convenience,” Zych said. “We're thrilled to take another step forward and give Shake Shack customers in Los Angeles a little more Uber magic through sidewalk robot delivery.”
Serve’s autonomous robots are designed to make food deliveries quick, secure, and eco-friendly. They’re optimized for efficient route planning and offer contactless delivery, all while safely navigating busy urban environments. Plus, no tipping required—it’s a robot!
Shake Shack's robotic deliveries are now available through the Uber Eats app in select LA locations.
