Skyfire and Ondas Autonomous Systems have announced a partnership aimed at introducing advanced autonomous drone solutions to the public safety and Drone First Responder (DFR) markets in the United States. The collaboration will bring together Skyfire's expertise in providing aerial data solutions to public safety customers and Ondas' advanced autonomous drone technology.
The partnership will leverage the technology and expertise of Ondas Autonomous Systems' business units American Robotics, Inc. and Airobotics LTD, which includes Airobotics' automated drone platform, known as the Optimus System. The Optimus System is an end-to-end, fully automated uncrewed aerial system designed to facilitate on-demand 24/7 aerial data operations in complex environments. It comprises all the necessary hardware and software components for safe and efficient data capture, distribution, and analytics. The Optimus System is currently in its final stages of completing Type Certification by the FAA, which will enable it to fly BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) in expanded, complex operational environments.
Matt Sloane, the founder and CEO of Skyfire, expressed excitement about the partnership and stated that the Optimus drone capabilities, with its pending Type Certification, will be the preferred automated drone solution for police departments across the United States. The goal is to remove the pilot from the rooftop and allow them to focus on their core responsibilities while relying on the advanced capabilities of the Optimus System.
Ondas' Optimus Systems can be equipped with up to seven different payload options and 10 batteries, making it suitable for various missions in public safety, critical infrastructure, disaster response, surveying and mapping, and more. Skyfire, with its decade of mission-specific drone training, advanced waiver capability, integration with radar systems, and drone first response operations experience, is well-positioned to introduce the Optimus System to its US public safety and drone first responder customers.
Eric Brook, the CEO of Ondas Holdings, sees the Optimus System as the next generation of drones and believes that Skyfire is an excellent partner to help drive customer adoption in the public safety markets across the US. The integration of the Optimus System as aerial infrastructure has the potential to revolutionize the way emergency agencies respond to incidents reported to 911 centers. The combined expertise of Skyfire and Airobotics in deploying city-wide drone infrastructure is expected to bring shorter response times, improved efficiency, and a more environmentally friendly solution to many US cities and emergency departments.
Skyfire maintains its focus on supporting first responders, the military, US Department of Defense (DOD), and critical infrastructure through the use of drone technology, particularly through Drone First Responder (DFR) programs. DFR programs aim to enhance the response to emergency situations by deploying drones, providing situational awareness, and increasing efficiency, thereby contributing to public safety and community well-being.
