Brazil's Speedbird Aero, a drone logistics startup, has raised $2 million in a funding round led by MSW Capital. Founded in 2018 by Samuel Salomão and Manoel Coelho, the company specializes in the development and operation of unmanned aerial systems for product drone delivery. It has notably obtained authorization from the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to carry out aerial deliveries within Brazil.
Transitioning to a B2B model, Speedbird Aero provides drone logistics services to various companies. Among its clientele are food delivery firm iFood, Natura, Claro, and Grupo Pardini. The company reports having transported around 10,000 kg of cargo, serving roughly 3 million people, and has forged partnerships with more than 10 significant global companies.
Speedbird Aero has also announced its intentions to broaden its operational footprint to the United States, with a long-term goal of achieving global operations by 2030. The recent financial backing is expected to further the development of its delivery drones and facilitate its expansion. Overall, Speedbird Aero has managed to raise $8.8 million across four funding rounds
