The partnership envisages the creation of a unique ‘driver-as-a-service’ solution, where Waabi’s advanced autonomous technology, the Waabi Driver, will be integrated with Uber Freight's logistics platform. This will allow carriers to efficiently deploy the Waabi Driver, aiming to resolve capacity issues for shippers and enhance the overall value within the supply chain.
This integrated solution is intended to increase asset utilization and profitability across carriers of varying scales by providing them enhanced infrastructure services for the deployment, maintenance, and management of autonomous assets. Waabi and Uber Freight are planning to deploy billions of Waabi Driver miles in collaboration with carrier partners on the Uber Freight network over the next ten years.
For the execution of this combined solution, autonomous trucks have already been introduced on the Uber Freight network, operating between Dallas and Houston. This has afforded early access to autonomous freight capacity for customers and is part of the planned expansion to other key regions within Texas and beyond.
