Wing has announced a partnership with DoorDash and Brookfield Properties to offer ultra-fast drone delivery services from local malls in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This service is a first of its kind for American shopping centers and aims to cater to the swift and efficient delivery demands of modern consumers.
The initiative kicks off at Brookfield Properties' Stonebriar Centre in Frisco and Hulen Mall in Fort Worth. With over 50 merchants participating, customers can make use of the DoorDash app to request drone delivery for their orders. Wing's advanced drones are capable of delivering food and various goods directly to customers' doorsteps in approximately 15 minutes, navigating at speeds of 65 mph and cruising heights of around 150 feet before descending to the delivery site.
Starting today, DoorDash users residing in eligible areas within Dallas-Fort Worth can choose drone delivery when placing their orders via the app. Once drone delivery is selected, the ordered items are prepared, packaged, and dispatched using Wing's drone fleet. Further enabling this venture is Wing's collaboration with Brookfield Properties, a prominent leader in real estate management. With a focus on revitalizing modern shopping experiences, Brookfield Properties aims to leverage underutilized spaces within its malls, such as rooftops and excessive parking areas, to facilitate this innovative delivery model.
