Obvious Ventures has led a $40M Series B investment in Pyka, an autonomous electric aircraft company focused on agricultural spraying and cargo delivery. With a mission to decarbonize aviation, Pyka's electric aircraft offer safer, more sustainable solutions for industries like farming and freight.

Heinen Brothers will integrate the Pelican Spray into their fleet, enhancing their agricultural operations across the Midwest, South, and Western United States through advanced automation.

This partnership leverages SNC’s expertise in crafting bespoke solutions for intricate challenges and Pyka’s innovative electric cargo aircraft, Pelican Cargo.

The unveiling took place at New Braunfels National Airport, marking the first delivery of what will be a fleet of three such aircraft to AFWERX, the innovation arm of the DAF, under the Air Force Research Laboratory.

The Pelican Cargo drone, introduced to Skyports Drone Services' fleet in early 2023, is touted as the world’s largest fully automated and electric cargo aircraft.

The subsequent phase will see the Pelican Spray aircraft being used more extensively across Dole’s banana plantations, enhancing their existing fleet of agricultural spray planes

ITE's partnership with Pyka aligns with its objective to identify and support pioneers in the Energy Transition.

Following this eagerly-awaited FAA approval, Pyka is now eligible to conduct commercial operations across the United States, offering safety, environmental, and economic benefits to American farmers and the public.
