The company has been granted an amount of approximately 12.4 billion yen (about USD 82.7 million) to further its technological development aimed at addressing societal challenges such as traffic congestion and emissions reduction.

SkyDrive will establish a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to eVTOL manufacturing in collaboration with Suzuki. This subsidiary will operate within a Suzuki Group production facility located in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Marketed as a "flying car," the SD-05 is an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle designed by Skydrive.
