Guardian Agriculture, the industry leader in electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) systems for large-scale sustainable farming, has announced a successful Series A fundraise of $20 million. Led by Fall Line Capital, this funding round marks a significant milestone for the company, enabling the expansion of commercial operations nationwide and accelerating the manufacturing of its SC1 aircraft.
As the first and only eVTOL company with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval for nationwide commercial operation, Guardian Agriculture is poised to revolutionize the farming industry. The company's SC1 aircraft is authorized to operate across the United States, offering a pioneering solution for sustainable and efficient farming practices.
Guardian Agriculture Founder and CEO, Adam Bercu, expressed the significance of this funding and the recognition received from customers, investors, and regulators.
"There's no better application for electric, fully-autonomous aircraft than in commercial farming," said Bercu. "Our practical approach to technology development sets us apart from other eVTOL developers. With FAA approval to operate commercially, this funding will accelerate our commercial operations, allowing us to serve real farms and paying customers sooner. We are excited to strengthen our team and ramp up aircraft production."
The Guardian SC1 platform, which has already secured over $100 million in customer orders, is a cutting-edge autonomous, electric, aerial crop protection system designed explicitly for large-scale agriculture. Unlike other unmanned autonomous systems, Guardian Agriculture proudly designs and manufactures its system entirely within the United States. This commitment supports national competitiveness, job creation, and ensures the preservation of national security. The company will initiate commercial operations this summer in collaboration with its customer, Wilbur-Ellis, in California.
Fall Line Capital Managing Director, Clay Mitchell, emphasized Guardian's commitment to engineering and manufacturing excellence.
"Guardian is the first company to develop unmanned aerial application technology with aviation-grade engineering and manufacturing," said Mitchell. "This focus on quality greatly enhances reliability and performance. Farmers, in addition to cost savings and elimination of soil and crop damage, will immediately recognize that Guardian's product works."
Established in 2017, Guardian Agriculture boasts an exceptional team of engineering, autonomy, and manufacturing leaders. The team's collective expertise stems from previous executive-level positions at renowned companies such as Apple, BAE, Sikorsky, Adobe, Tesla, and Uber. With offices in Massachusetts and California, Guardian Agriculture is at the forefront of transforming the agriculture industry with innovative eVTOL solutions.
The successful Series A funding places Guardian Agriculture in a strong position to advance its commercial operations, meet growing customer demands, and make significant contributions to the future of sustainable farming practices.
